This course provides learners with the knowledge and practical skills to use an electric nail file (e-file) safely and effectively for nail preparation, enhancement refinement, infills, and removal.

What You Will Learn:

Theory and Compliance:

• Health and safety procedures specific to e-filing equipment

• Conducting risk assessments and maintaining a safe workspace

• Recognising contraindications and contra-actions associated with e-filing

• Correct use of PPE and hygiene protocols

• Understanding Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for e-file bits and products

• Professional client consultation and treatment documentation

• GDPR compliance and maintaining client confidentiality

• Providing aftercare advice for nail and cuticle health

Anatomy and Physiology:

• Structure and growth of the natural nail

• Understanding the nail plate and surrounding tissues to avoid damage

• Effects of e-filing on the nail structure and overall health

Practical Skills:

• Correct setup and maintenance of the e-file and drill bits

• Identifying and selecting different e-file bits for specific tasks

• Safe and effective cuticle work, nail prep, and product refinement

• Performing infills, rebalances, and removal of enhancements using the e-file

• Controlling speed, pressure, and angle for precision and safety

• Preventing heat buildup and over-filing

• Maintaining strict hygiene and disinfection of tools and bits

Prerequisites:

Acrylic or Gel Nail Extensions qualification (or equivalent) required.
