About the Course
This course provides learners with the essential knowledge and practical skills to perform professional facial treatments. It focuses on skin analysis, cleansing, exfoliation, massage, and mask application for healthy, radiant skin.
What You Will Learn:
Theory and Compliance:
Health and safety standards for facial and skincare treatments
Conducting risk assessments and maintaining hygiene in the treatment area
Recognising contraindications and managing contra-actions
Correct use of PPE and safe handling of skincare products
Understanding Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for facial products
Completing detailed client consultations and skin analysis forms
GDPR compliance and secure client record-keeping
Providing tailored aftercare advice for ongoing skin maintenance
Anatomy and Physiology:
Structure and functions of the skin and underlying tissues
Understanding the circulatory, lymphatic, and muscular systems of the face and neck
The effects of massage and skincare products on skin health
Practical Skills:
Preparing the treatment area, tools, and products
Performing professional cleansing, exfoliation, steaming, and extraction (if applicable)
Mixing and applying masks and serums for different skin types
Delivering a relaxing facial massage using correct techniques
Providing skin analysis and selecting suitable products
Maintaining client comfort, safety, and hygiene throughout the treatment
Cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilising tools and equipment after each client
Prerequisites:
None – suitable for beginners or existing therapists wishing to expand their skincare and facial treatment services.
