This course provides learners with the knowledge and hands-on skills to perform professional microdermabrasion facials, using advanced exfoliation techniques to improve skin tone, texture, and overall appearance.

• Conducting risk assessments and maintaining a hygienic workspace

• Identifying contraindications and managing contra-actions

• Correct use of PPE and machine operation safety

• Understanding Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for microdermabrasion consumables and products

• Performing thorough client consultations and skin assessments

• GDPR compliance and maintaining professional client records

• Providing effective aftercare advice for post-treatment recovery and maintenance

Anatomy and Physiology:

• Structure and functions of the skin and epidermal layers

• The cell renewal process and how exfoliation supports skin regeneration

• Effects of microdermabrasion on circulation and collagen production

Practical Skills:

• Preparing the treatment area, equipment, and products

• Performing deep cleansing and exfoliation using a microdermabrasion machine

• Adjusting machine settings to suit different skin types and concerns

• Performing facial massage and mask application post-treatment

• Providing targeted treatments for fine lines, congestion, pigmentation, and uneven texture

• Maintaining client comfort, hygiene, and safety throughout the procedure

• Cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilising tools and equipment after use

Facial Therapy qualification (or equivalent) recommended.
